Brighton has been voted as one of the top three happiest places to be in the UK. Creativity and freedom are at the forefront of Brighton’s thriving culture, and with its inclusive and eclectic vibes, it certainly has much more to offer than your average university city.
Brighton, or ‘London by Sea’ to use its other name, has over 30,000 current students, a beach on its doorstep, and the shopping areas of the North Laine and The Lanes, full of independent stores and entertainment businesses selling everything from clothes and music, to furniture and art. There are many theatres and live performance venues across the city, as well as hundreds of bars, pubs and clubs, and a vibrant gay scene. It’s a city where ‘being you’ is celebrated – an ethos very much in-line with our own.
Brighton is the digital capital of the UK and often nicknamed ‘Silicon Beach’. It’s a hub of creativity and an epicentre for the arts. Throughout May, the city hosts England’s largest arts festival, with Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe and The Great Escape bringing together musicians, artists, actors and comedians into one amazing month, and generating a fantastic melting pot of talent to inspire you, while offering you an opportunity to get involved. All year round, the city is packed with free music events and pop-up gigs. It’s also host to international music festivals including the number one new music festival in Europe – The Great Escape – as well as Shakedown, Together The People and Love Supreme.
