This summer at BRICTT we have some exciting new short courses aimed at furthering your acting abilities.

These short courses are aimed at different skills levels and will be lead by prestigious professionals such as Michael Corbidge of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

 

Intensive short course: voicing Shakespeare

DATE:  2nd – 6th July

TIME:  10:00am – 4:30pm

LOCATION: Brighton Institute for Contemporary Theatre Training

REQUIREMENTS: Participants must be 18+. Fluent, confident knowledge of the English language is essential.

Whether you are an experienced aficionado of Shakespeare, want to discover the joys of text and character for the first time, or an actor looking to delve deeper in to your responses and explorations, this stimulating and inspirational course will have plenty to offer you.

Acting technique intensive course:
MEISNER for BEGINNERS

DATE:  2nd – 6th July

TIME:  10:00am – 4:30pm

LOCATION: Brighton Institute for Contemporary Theatre Training

REQUIREMENTS: Participants must be 18+. Fluent, confident knowledge of the English language is essential. No prior experience of Meisner is required, although a willingness to approach the work with boldness and curiosity is crucial.

This course explores the basis of the Meisner technique, combined with practices and philosophies that align with values of courage, empathy, connection, non-judgement and worthiness.

Focusing heavily on authenticity as an indispensable gift for true, honest work, the course encourages each individual actor to let go of the habits that get in the way of authentic acting and to invest in the reality of doing truthfully.

Acting technique intensive course: MEISNER ADVANCED

DATE:  9th - 13th July

TIME:  10:00am – 4:30pm

LOCATION: Brighton Institute for Contemporary Theatre Training

REQUIREMENTS: Participants must be 18+. Fluent, confident knowledge of the English language is essential.

This intensive course is suitable for experienced actors who have prior experience of the Meisner technique.

The values of spontaneity and truth are threaded into the realms of given circumstances and relationships. The power of What If?  is explored to craft performances from a place of personal meaning. The aim is to develop skills, which can be applied to every aspect of acting – including poetic text and technically demanding material.
