Step 1: Apply

If you are UK-based, you will need to submit an application through UCAS, you will also need to register on UCAS before you can submit any choices. You will find helpful guides on the UCAS website, which we encourage you to use if you are experiencing any difficulties.

All of our course application codes can be found on the UCAS website under BIMM University or on our relevant course pages.

Once your application has been received a member of the admissions team will be in touch with the next steps which will include confirming an audition day on campus.

Step 2: Personal Statement

Part of your UCAS application is writing a personal statement. This gives us an insight into your ambitions, skills and previous experience, as well as giving you a chance to show your passion for your preferred course. For information on how to write a personal statement, check out our essential documents.

Step 3: Audition Day

Please book an audition via the website on the Open Days and Events page. Our auditions are held between November and March. We are looking for people who inspire us with their individuality, commitment, work ethic and, most importantly, their talent and potential. It does help to have some prior knowledge of the subjects you will undertake on the day, but this is not essential.

Our staff and students create a friendly and welcoming environment that will help to ease your nerves and make the process as enjoyable as possible.

Our auditions are held on campus and conducted by our Senior Management Team and lecturers. If you require a different date, please email admissions@bimm.ac.uk as they may be more dates available that have not been released. For those who are unable to attend in person, we offer the facility to audition via video submission.

On the day

If you are auditioning for our BA (Hons) Performing Arts, you will be required to specify which of our 2 pathways you are auditioning for:

  • Contemporary Musical Theatre
  • Acting for the 21st Century

For MT you will be required to take a dance class on the day, a workshop and present 2 songs and a monologue. You will have the opportunity to express your individuality via improvisation within the jazz class and acting session.

For Acting you will be required to participate in group workshops in improvisation, voice and acting and be ready to present your prepared pieces which should be 2 contrasting monologues.

On completion of the practical elements, you may be required to have an interview.

Before applying to ICTheatre, we recommend that you join us for one of our open days so that you get to experience what it might be like to train with us for the next three years. We feel this is an extremely important part of your research.

Step 4: Offer

If your audition is successful, you’ll either be made a ‘conditional’ or ‘unconditional’ offer. A ‘Conditional’ offer means that your place is pending until we receive any further information required, such as exam results and certificates. An ‘Unconditional’ offer means that you have met the entry criteria for the course.

Step 5: Confirm Your Place

Confirmation of your place will be made through ‘Track’ on the UCAS website. It is then up to you to confirm your place. Once you have accepted the offer, the ICTheatre Admissions Team will be in touch with further guidance and information where applicable.

Step 1: Apply

The first step to apply for our Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance is to create an applicant account.

Applicants must create an account using their own email address, date of birth and personal details. Please do not use details of a parent/guardian.

If you have already applied through UCAS for an Undergraduate degree with either ICTheatre or Performers College and want to also apply for the Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance offered at Northern Ballet School, you will also need to apply directly for this course by clicking the Online Application Form button below.
